Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

• "Quiet Years" / "we" / "us" — the business operating at the address above.
• "Programme" — any service offered by Quiet Years including the Reading Companion, Library Access subscription, and Day-Planning Workshop.
• "Participant" / "you" — any individual who books or attends a programme.
• "Session" — a scheduled meeting or workshop forming part of a programme.
• "Agreement" — the agreement formed between you and Quiet Years when you confirm a booking.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a programme, submitting an enquiry form, or attending a session, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not make a booking.

Programmes are available to individuals aged 18 and over who have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under Thai law.

3. Service Description

Quiet Years provides educational and organisational programmes in the following areas:

• Retirement Paperwork Reading Companion — small-group reading sessions with facilitated document comprehension support.
• Information Sheet Library Access — subscription access to a curated collection of publicly available retirement information documents.
• Retirement Day-Planning Workshop — a two-day workshop on practical life organisation for retirement.

Important: None of our programmes constitute financial advice, legal advice, or any form of regulated service. Facilitators help with reading comprehension and document organisation only. Any action you take regarding your pension or retirement finances remains solely your own decision.

4. Booking and Payment

• Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment in full.
• Fees are as published on our website at the time of booking: Reading Companion ฿15,600; Library Access ฿3,600 per month; Day-Planning Workshop ฿5,400.
• Payment is accepted by bank transfer or as otherwise agreed in writing.
• An invoice will be provided upon confirmation of each booking.
• Library subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled with one month's written notice.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancellation more than 14 days before the first session: full refund, less any bank transfer fees.
• Cancellation 7–14 days before the first session: 50% refund.
• Cancellation fewer than 7 days before the first session: no refund, but you may transfer your place to another person.
• Library subscriptions: no partial-month refunds. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing month following notice.
• If Quiet Years cancels or reschedules a session for operational reasons, you will be offered a full refund or transfer to the next available cohort.

6. Participant Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for sessions. Missed sessions cannot be refunded or rescheduled individually.
• Treat other participants and facilitators with courtesy.
• Do not record, photograph, or share content from sessions without the written consent of all parties present.
• Bring only documents that you have the right to possess and handle.
• Acknowledge that facilitators do not provide personal financial, legal, or tax advice and will decline to do so if asked.

7. Intellectual Property

All materials produced by Quiet Years — session frameworks, worksheets, library catalogues, and website content — are the intellectual property of Quiet Years. Participants may use materials for personal reference only and may not reproduce, sell, or distribute them without written permission.

8. Disclaimers

Quiet Years provides educational reading support only. We make no representation about the suitability of any pension arrangement, investment, or financial product for any individual.

Information sheets in the library are reproduced from publicly available sources. Quiet Years does not warrant their completeness or currency. Always verify key information with the issuing authority.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Quiet Years' liability to any participant is limited to the programme fee paid. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or financial losses arising from attendance at, or absence from, a programme. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Termination

Quiet Years may terminate a participant's access to sessions if their conduct is disruptive, disrespectful, or in breach of these terms. In such cases, no refund will be provided. A participant may withdraw from a programme at any time subject to the cancellation terms in Section 5.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from them shall first be addressed through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

12. General Provisions

• Entire agreement: These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Quiet Years for participation in a programme.
• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force.
• Waiver: Failure to enforce any term does not constitute a waiver of it.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised Last Updated date. Continued participation in a programme after changes have been published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
