Why Quiet Years

What makes the reading room different

Reading, not advising

Our facilitators are trained in reading support and document comprehension — not financial planning. That distinction protects you and keeps sessions genuinely educational.

Small, unhurried groups

Sessions are kept small so that every participant has space to read at their own pace and ask questions without pressure. No one is left behind.

Your notes, your understanding

You write your own notes in your own words. By the end of each session you hold a record of what you read and what it meant to you — not a summary from someone else.

A calm physical space

Our reading room in Silom is quiet, well-lit, and designed for concentration. No distractions, no sales environment — just a table, good light, and the time to read carefully.

Thai and international documents

We work with pension paperwork from Thai government sources and from overseas providers. If you have documents from multiple countries, we can read those alongside you too.

Clear scope, no hidden agenda

We do not sell financial products, refer to advisers for commission, or benefit from your pension decisions. The service begins and ends with educational reading support.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

What documents can I bring to a session?
You can bring any pension or retirement-related paperwork — Thai Social Security statements, provident fund documents, foreign pension correspondence, annuity contracts, or benefit summary letters. If you are unsure whether something is relevant, bring it and we will look at it together.
Do you give financial or legal advice?
No. Our facilitators help with reading comprehension and vocabulary — they explain what words mean in context and help you take your own notes. They do not tell you what to do with your pension, and they do not recommend financial products or services. If you need personal advice, we can suggest how to find a regulated adviser separately.
How many people are in each group session?
Reading Companion sessions typically have four to six participants. We keep the numbers low so that each person has enough quiet time and individual attention from the facilitator. The Day-Planning Workshop accommodates up to ten participants across the two days.
How do I access the Information Sheet Library?
Library subscribers can visit the reading room during opening hours to browse and read. You can also request specific sheets to be printed and bound for you to take away. Requests are usually fulfilled within two working days. The subscription renews monthly and can be paused with one month's notice.
When do the Reading Companion sessions run?
New cohorts begin on the first Tuesday of each month. Sessions run on Tuesday mornings from 09:30 to 11:00. If Tuesday mornings do not suit, contact us and we will note your preference for when we schedule an additional cohort.
What is included in the Day-Planning Workshop price?
The ฿5,400 fee covers both full days of facilitated sessions, your personal weekly plan template, a printed community resource list, and light refreshments during breaks. Lunch is not included, though there are several good options within walking distance of our Silom location.
Is my information kept private?
Yes. We do not copy, photograph, or retain any of your personal documents. Notes taken during sessions belong to you and leave the room with you. We collect only the contact information needed to manage your booking, handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
